Amanda Vega is a strategic business and marketing leader who began her career over 30 years ago as a chat moderator at AOL, later helping develop some of AOL’s signature products like AIM and Love@AOL. After working her way up the ranks, she left the company to work with other industry pioneers, starting an agency that helped create and grow many of the online marketing capabilities and services many people currently take for granted, until acquisition by Ogilvy.

Dr. Michelle Weiner

Science Board Member

Dr. Michelle Weiner is double boardcertified in Interventional Pain Medicine and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She completed her residency and fellowship training at the University of Miami and Chairs Florida’s Medical Cannabis Advisory Committee.

Dr. Wellington Briques

Science Board Member

Dr. Wellington Briques graduated in Medicine from the University of São Paulo – USP. He holds an MBA in Marketing and another in People Management, and the title of GFMD (Global Fellow in Medicine Development) from King’s College London, UK, in partnership with IFAPP. He currently serves as the President of the Brazilian Society of Pharmaceutical Medicine (SBMF) and is th e Founder of the Cannabis Academy.

His professional journey includes prominent roles, such as Chief Medical Officer at the Butantan Institute and Global Medical Director at Canopy Growth, among other significant positions in pharmaceuticals and biotech companies. Dr. Briques has dedicated his career to patient care, medical education, scientific publications, advisory board contributions in healthcare, and the development of innovative therapeutic molecules, with a focus on medical cannabis.

Dr. Jennifer R. Berman

Science Board Member

Dr. Berman earned her Master of Science degree from the University of Maryland Medical Center and her Medical Degree from Boston University School of Medicine. She completed her post-graduate urology residency training at the University of Maryland, and received specialized fellowship training in Female Urology and Pelvic Floor Reconstructive Surgery at UCLA Medical Center. 

There, she also co-founded the Female Sexual Medicine Center, served as its Director and pioneered the original benchmark clinical and basic science research studies in female sexual health that are directing medical care today. In addition to her work in the media, Dr. Berman has a private practice in Beverly Hills where she continues to see patients, do research, and consult with companies and major brands to develop new strategies and treatments for optimizing women’s health.
